CVK Agritech
End-to-end agritech, from the camera in the field to the farmer’s phone
For CVK Agritech, Astro Dijital built the whole digital product: the software on the field sensor, the data centre that manages the device fleet, the web panel farmers check every day, the mobile app and the brand’s website.
The promise is simple: see your field every day without driving out to it. The device captures photos and measurements several times a day; the panel turns that data into plant health, growth stage and disease risk.
Device Software
Two cameras, sun-timed capture and an architecture built for sleep
The field sensor runs on a Raspberry Pi with two cameras: a standard camera for the true-colour daytime frame the farmer sees, and a NoIR camera that measures plant health (NDVI) at night with a 660 nm and 940 nm flash. One camera cannot do both; daylight floods an infrared sensor and ruins the colour.
Capture is tied to the sun, not the clock: night measurements are taken with the sun 10° below the horizon and the colour frame at solar noon. That timing is not a guess; it was set by computing the sun angle for 5,625 photos from 10 sensors in the 2024 season.

The same field, three different eyes

Real device frames from 24 July 2024. In the panel, every day can be switched between these three layers.
Device Fleet Management
We never open inbound connections; the device calls out
Solar and battery budgets do not allow 24/7 operation, so the device sleeps most of the day. We therefore built the data centre around a command queue: when the device wakes it reports status, uploads its measurements and picks up waiting commands. Everything, including reboots and modem resets, goes through the queue and nothing is lost.
With this approach, 4G in the field, Wi-Fi in the office and IP addresses that change on every connection stop being a problem. When deep diagnosis is needed, a temporary tunnel is requested from the panel and closed when the work is done.
Web Panel
All field data on one screen
For each field the panel offers a day-by-day photo browser, metrics such as temperature, growing degree days (GDD), dew duration, NDVI, soil temperature and moisture, field drawing on a satellite map, a crop-rotation calendar and a 10-day weather forecast. Charts move together on a single draggable date scrubber and export to Excel.

CVK Agritech AI
The layer that turns frames and measurements into a field score
The AI layer reads frames together with weather and soil measurements and produces vigour, uniformity, stress and disease scores, findings, and harvest and yield estimates for each field. The analysis screen opens with an animated scene showing which data the model is looking at.

Mobile App
Field sensors in your pocket
Built with React Native (Expo), the app brings real device frames, NDVI and canopy-mask layers, the satellite map and the AI field score to iOS and Android. Its routing mirrors the web panel, so both products share one mental model; the session is kept in the device’s secure keychain.

Corporate Website
We built cvkagritech.com to explain the product and lead visitors to a demo request: separate pages for the field camera, soil sensor, web platform and mobile app; crop pages for corn, wheat, soy, potato, sugar beet and more, from sowing to harvest; and dedicated pages for farm operators and fertiliser companies.
